The City of Snoqualmie established a COVID-19 Snoqualmie Rapid Relief Program in May 2020 to assist small, locally-owned, Snoqualmie-based businesses and community organizations with economic recovery. This emergency program will provide working capital grants to small businesses, social service agencies, and community organizations. The city partnered with the SnoValley Chamber of Commerce to help administer the process.
The City of Snoqualmie allocated $435,000 to 77 local businesses and community organizations to support recovery. Of the $435,000, $410,000 will be reimbursed to the city from the State of Washington using Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) dollars; a $20,000 grant from King County; and another $5,000 grant from the Office of King County Councilmember Lambert. The City of Snoqualmie was able to allocate all of its CARES Act funding rather than using it for government operations.
