Comp Plan Open Housse Graphic

April 6, 2023, 6-7:30 pm, City Council Chambers, 38624 SE River Street

We want to hear from you! Come share your thoughts about the future of housing, transportation, traffic, parks, and more in the City of Snoqualmie, and learn how your input will help to set the City’s priorities for the next 8 years.

Join your neighbors and City staff in Council Chambers on April 6, from 6-7:30 pm for this casual open house to learn more about the 2023-24 Comprehensive Plan Update. The Comprehensive Plan, which is updated only once every 8 years, is the City’s most important planning document and touches on all aspects of its future projects, policies, and priorities.

Background
Required by the Washington State Growth Management Act, the Comprehensive Plan (or “Comp Plan” for short) outlines goals and policies for managing growth while protecting the health, welfare, and quality of life of residents.

This 20-year visioning plan will guide future development, policies affecting topics like housing and economic development, and City spending on parks, roads, public safety, and more. It will provide direction for all City departments to work towards a common vision that Snoqualmie community members wish to leave to future generations.

The Chapters of the City of Snoqualmie’s Comprehensive Plan are:

  • Vision & Policy
  • Implementation
  • Economic Development
  • Housing
  • Community Character
  • Environment
  • Land Use
  • Transportation
  • Capital Facilities & Utilities

Primary purposes of the update include:

  • Review plan and regulations, bringing them in compliance with changes to state law and the Growth Management Act (GMA)
  • Respond to changes in land use and population
  • Address community priorities and/or needs.
