Role & Responsibilities
The Community Development Department implements smart growth principles through sustainable city planning, proactive local and regional administration, and balanced economic development.
The department, comprised of the Planning and Building Divisions, oversees long-range planning and land use management in accordance with the Washington State Growth Management Act and by utilizing the guidance of Snoqualmie's Comprehensive Plan and zoning map.
Additionally, the Community Development Department reviews and processes permits, provides building inspections, code enforcement, and oversees planning and review of development projects within the City.
Leadership
Mona Davis leads the Community Development Department. She has over 25 years of planning and land use experience, working in both public and private sectors throughout the local region, most recently serving as the Community Development Director in Black Diamond. She has lived in the Snoqualmie Valley for over 20 years, where she and her husband raised their two sons.
