event have the right to refuse any material they deem unacceptable.

NOTES

SCRAP METAL, APPLIANCES 

Barbecues, microwaves, cast iron sinks and tubs, dishwashers, lawnmowers, stoves, hot water heaters, washers and dryers.

No cars, trailers, greasy metal. No propane or gaseous cylinder tanks.

No windows or glass.

Please drain all liquids, (gas, oil, etc.) and remove any plastic or rubber from metal.

REFRIGERATORS, FREEZERS, AIR CONDITIONERS

Household refrigerators and freezers, household air conditioners.

No commercial appliances or automobile air conditioning units.


FLUORESCENT BULBS/TUBES

Fluorescent bulbs or tubes.

No lighting fixtures or broken tubes.

Double bag please. If broken, take to Hazardous Wastemobile. (hazwastehelp.org).

ELECTRONICS

Computers, monitors, laptops, keyboards, mice, scanners, printers, stereos, TVs, VCRs, phones, fax machines, power supplies.

No commercial equipment. No large copiers. This is a residential event.

YARD WASTE

Grass, leaves, weeds, branches up to 3” diameter and 3 feet long.

Large branches, sod, dirt, rocks, wood stumps, manure, plastic bags.

No trash or construction debris. Unloading into container is by hand - no powered equipment or hand tools will be provided.

DOCUMENT SHREDDING

Paper documents.

Metal folders, plastic.


PETROLEUM PRODUCTS

Motor oil, gasoline, diesel fuel, 2-cycle mix, transmission and brake fluid, kerosene, antifreeze and oil filters.

No unmarked or mixed liquids.  Containers must be properly sealed. Contents will be emptied from containers and returned to owner.

Do not mix liquids together. Bring contents in re-useable containers. Containers will be given back to owner once emptied.

TIRES

On- or off-rim light truck, car and motorcycle tires.

No commercial vehicle tires. This is a residential event.


Biased, steel-belted, and studded tires accepted.

BATTERIES

Car, truck, marine lead acid batteries; household batteries including alkaline, rechargeable, & button,


Pre-sort large quantities.

Small alkaline quantities recycle at City Hall. Open year-around business hours.

CLOTHING & HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

Reusable items that work: clothing, shoes, bedding, pots, books, small appliances, and toys.

No broken, torn, stained, wet items.  No furniture, carpet, or mattresses.


 

NOT ACCEPTED:

  • Oil-based paint, pesticides, broken fluorescent tube, or household chemicals – take to the Household Hazardous Drop-Off or Wastemobile locations. Info: www.hazwastehelp.org.  
  • Latex paint – Dry out and dispose of in regular waste containers. Info: www.hazwastehelp.org.
  • No packing peanuts, planter pots, Child car seats or plastic play equipment, propane tanks (i.e., barbecue type).
