Through the Green Snoqualmie Partnership, an initiative to restore and protect Snoqualmie parks and natural areas, 237,000 square feet of weeds have been removed from local forests. The partnership is now ready to replace non-native plants with native trees and shrubs, and invites volunteers to participate in Green Snoqualmie Day, held October 6, 9 am-noon, at Snoqualmie Community Park at 35016 SE Ridge Street and Meadowbrook Slough (meet at Centennial Fields, 39903 SE Park Street). Gloves and tools are provided as part of the event, which is open to all ages and abilities. Participants can look forward to tree planting, food, and fun activities. Event is rain or shine.
