December 18, 2023 - Assault in Progress

Officers were dispatched to an assault in progress at Pickering Court. The reporting party stated that a person was throwing rocks at her car and punched her in the head before driving off. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the reporting party, her boyfriend, and an additional witness. According to their statements, a female suspect arrived at the apartments and began yelling profanities at them. The suspect then began throwing rocks at their apartment and vehicle. The reporting party stepped outside, and the suspect charged toward her and hit her numerous times. The boyfriend saw what was happening and pepper sprayed the suspect and told her to leave. The suspect then got in the passenger seat of a truck that drove off. The third-party witness stated that he saw the suspect throw rocks at the reporting party’s car. Officers observed dent marks on the vehicle. Another officer was able to locate the vehicle and detained the suspect. Statement forms were filled out, and the suspect was charged with Assault in the Fourth Degree and Malicious Mischief in the Third Degree.

December 18, 2023 - Traffic Stop

While on routine patrol, an officer observed a vehicle that was swerving on North Bend Way west of downtown North Bend. The officer initiated a traffic stop and contacted the driver. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana and either oxycodone or heroin. The driver agreed to perform voluntary field sobriety tests and a preliminary blood test. Based on the results, the officer placed the driver under arrest for Driving Under the Influence and the driver was booked into Issaquah City Jail.

December 18, 2023 - Unwanted Subject

Dispatch notified officers of a call regarding an unwanted subject at Reclaim Shelter. An officer arrived on scene and spoke to an employee that wanted a male subject to leave. An officer spoke to the subject who did not want to leave, but the officer was able to deescalate the situation and have the subject leave the shelter. Approximately 30 minutes later, dispatch notified officers that the subject had returned. Officers arrived and spoke with a employee who requested the subject be trespassed. An officer trespassed the subject from the property, and waited to see if the subject would return. The subject returned shortly after, and the subject was detained and charged with Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree.

December 20. 2023 - Drug Problem

While on routine patrol, an officer noticed a vehicle with two occupants who were both passed out at a North Bend gas station.  A back-up officer arrived, and the officers approached the vehicle, observing drug paraphernalia next to the occupants. Officers knocked on the window and the female passenger was seen throwing things into the back of the vehicle before rolling down the window. Officers asked for the narcotics that the two suspects were using, but they initially denied having any. After being informed by the officers that they already had seen the drug paraphernalia, the suspects provided the officers with two small packages of methamphetamine. Both suspects were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

December 21, 2023 - Burglary Report

Officers responded to a burglary report at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in North Bend. Upon arrival, an officer met with the reporting party who stated that someone or a group of unknown people had entered the main church building at an unknown time. Multiple gift cards, as well as a small amount of tidings' coins, were taken from an office. The officer requested support from King County Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). An AFIS technician arrived on scene and was able to lift multiple fingerprints. Detailed reports from AFIS are pending, and the investigation is ongoing.

December 22, 2023 - Area Check

Dispatch aired a request for an area check at the North Bend Premium Outlets. Outlet security reported seeing a male doing drugs behind the Gap store before moving to a bathroom for an hour. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the subject in the bathroom stall. Officers escorted the subject out of the bathroom and trespassed him from the outlet mall for five years.

December 21, 2023 - Prisoner Transport

Officers were conducting a prisoner transport of a female suspect who was taken into custody for multiple warrants out of Auburn. The suspect passed out while in the patrol car, so officers requested a medical evaluation. The suspect was transported to Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, where the suspect told nurses that she swallowed an unknown amount of fentanyl. The suspect asked why officers were still present and stated, “I thought once I got to the hospital, the cops just leave and don’t stay with you.” Officers told her that this was not the case and that she was still going to jail. Once the suspect was medically cleared, officers went to put the suspect back in handcuffs when she pulled her arm away and ran out of the hospital. She jumped over a fence and got stuck in some bushes. Officers assisted the suspect out of the bushes and placed her back into custody. The suspect received additional charges for Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting Arrest and was booked into jail.    

December 23, 2023 - Agency Assist

Officers responded to a call to assist the Washington State Patrol with a collision near Snoqualmie Parkway and I-90. Officers spoke with the driver of one of the vehicles who stated that they were hit head on after a vehicle made a wrong turn directly into them. The suspect's vehicle then fled the scene and headed north on Snoqualmie Parkway. The driver of the hit vehicle was able to provide a description of the vehicle and a short video. Based on this information, officers were able to get a license plate and searched the area for the suspect's vehicle. Approximately 10 minutes later, officers located the vehicle at Jeanne Hansen Community Park and detained the driver. Washington State Patrol was notified and took custody of the driver.

December 23, 2023 - DUI

An officer was on routine patrol when a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed was observed on westbound on Railroad Ave. The officer clocked the vehicle’s speed at 80mph in a 25mph zone and saw the vehicle turn without using its turn signal. The officer initiated a traffic stop and contacted the driver. The officer noticed that the driver had bloodshot eyes and could smell a faint odor of alcohol. The officer administered field sobriety tests, as well as a preliminary breath test. Based on the evidence, the driver was detained and brought to the police department for DUI processing. While at the department, the suspect provided multiple breath samples with the results being over the legal limit. The suspect was subsequently charged with Driving Under the Influence.  

December 23, 2023 - Missing Person

Officers were notified by dispatch of a missing persons report. The reporting party was an employee for a shuttle bus company who stated that a male had gotten off the shuttle near a North Bend restaurant, but never returned. Dispatch provided a phone number for the missing person’s son and officers contacted the son. The son stated that his father was taking a shuttle from Yakima to Seattle. The son called a short time later and told officers that his father had called from a pay phone and that his belongings were still on the shuttle. Officers searched the area and located the subject. Officers assisted the subject with calling the shuttle company to locate his luggage and stayed with the subject until family members were able to arrive and pick the subject up.
