December 25, 2023 - Drug Problem
Officers responded to a call at the Snoqualmie Safeway regarding a suspect using narcotics in a vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and were able to locate the vehicle. As officers approached, they noticed that the driver appeared to be sleeping and saw possible drugs and drug paraphernalia on and around the driver. An officer contacted the driver, who woke up and showed numerous signs of drug use. The officer detained and identified the driver, who denied having any narcotics. After checking the name of the driver, dispatch notified the officer that the driver had multiple warrants out of Snohomish County. The officer placed the driver under arrest and conducted a search of the driver which yielded a large amount of cash, as well as multiple driver’s licenses and bank cards that did not belong to the suspect. The officer had the vehicle towed and had the suspect transported to Snoqualmie Valley Hospital for a medical evaluation before being booked into the South Correctional Entity. Officers are still investigating possible additional charges.
December 26, 2023 - Suspicious Activity
Dispatch alerted officers to a theft at the Nike store at the North Bend Outlet Mall. A male and female suspect stole multiple pairs of shoes and left the store in a silver SUV that was seen heading toward I-90. An officer positioned himself just north of the I-90 and SR 18 intersection and saw a silver SUV exit the highway and immediately get back on. The officer saw the driver of the vehicle which matched the male suspect's description from the Nike theft. The officer attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle began driving at a high rate of speed to elude the officer, who was restricted from pursuing. The officer went to Nike and spoke with employees who were able to identify the male suspect who had stolen from the store numerous times before. Officers reviewed footage of the theft and were able to confirm the identity of the male suspect. Charges have been forwarded for Theft in the Third Degree.
December 27, 2023 - Burglary Report
Officers responded to a burglary report on Snoqualmie Ridge. Officers spoke with the reporting party who told officers that a male suspect entered his garage which was unlocked early in the morning and stole numerous items before driving off. The suspect returned later and stole more items. The reporting party had video footage which officers reviewed. In total, approximately $2,075 worth of tools and cleaning supplies were stolen. Officers are still working to identify the suspect.
December 28, 2023 - Suspicious Activity
Dispatch alerted officers to a suspicious circumstance call at the North Bend Outlet Mall. An area check was requested by mall security because a repeat shoplifter was seen with a female who was possibly intoxicated at a store. An officer located the shoplifter and contacted him. He provided the officers with a driver’s license, but there were discrepancies and the officers detained him for further questioning. Officers also located the suspect’s car which had a temporary tag on it which came back to a citizen who was listed as being the victim of fraud and identity theft. Officers also saw opened mail in the vehicle belonging to various individuals. Officers used a fingerprint scanner to identify the suspect, which indicated the suspect lied about his identity to officers. Additionally, the suspect had numerous warrants and prior felony convictions for identity theft. Officers booked him into King County Jail for his warrants and the vehicle was towed to be searched for additional evidence.
December 29, 2023 - Traffic Stop
While on routine patrol near Riverview Park in Snoqualmie, an officer noticed a vehicle parked in a handicap parking spot while the park was closed. The officer exited their patrol vehicle and approached the vehicle, but the vehicle backed out and drove past the officer despite the officer yelling for the driver to stop. The officer had their flashlight on and was able to identify the male driver as they passed. The officer got back in their patrol vehicle and attempted to catch up to the other vehicle, but the other vehicle reached speeds in excess of 100 mph and the officer was unable to pursue. Officers continued searching for the vehicle and found it again on Falls Ave SE, but the vehicle once again took off at a high rate of speed. Charges have been forwarded for Reckless Driving, Failure to Obey a Police Officer, Speeding, and for violating city code for being in a park after hours.
December 30, 2023 - Theft in Progress
Officers responded to a theft in progress call at a North Bend Outlet Mall store. An employee reported a male and female suspect who stole sunglasses. Officers spoke with the employee and looked at security camera footage which showed the theft. Officers searched the area and located the suspects at the nearby Arby’s. As the suspects were leaving in a vehicle, officers conducted a stop and detained both suspects. Officers were able to positively identify the suspects as those that stole from the store and recovered a pair of stolen glasses. The suspects were charged with Theft in the Third Degree and booked into Issaquah City Jail.
December 31, 2023 - Traffic Offense
An officer was conducting speed emphasis on Snoqualmie Parkway when the officer observed a vehicle passing by that had a rear tire wobbling. The officer initiated a traffic stop for faulty equipment and public safety. The officer contacted the driver who stated that he hit a pothole and may have incorrectly installed a new tire. The driver also stated that he did not have insurance. The officer checked the driver’s name, which showed that the driver had a suspended license in the third degree for unresolved citations and collisions. The officer had the driver contact a friend with a valid license to drive the vehicle somewhere safe and was advised to make the necessary repairs for public safety. The driver was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance and Driving with a Suspended License and was advised on their court date.
December 31, 2023 - Theft in Progress
Dispatch alerted officers to a theft in progress at the North Bend Outlet Mall, with a male and female suspect running from the Sunglass Hut to Nike with 20+ sets of stolen sunglasses in a tote bag. One officer arrived at the Sunglass Hut and looked at security camera footage of the theft while additional officers went to Nike to locate the suspects. Officers located the suspects and detained them. An officer also located the car that they were using and found a third suspect in the driver’s seat actively using fentanyl. The officer detained the third suspect and saw a tote bag in the back of the vehicle which matched what the suspects used to carry the stolen sunglasses. The driver agreed to get the tote bag out of the vehicle and give it to the officer. The bag contained 12 pairs of stolen glasses valued at $3,760. The driver also gave a second bag which contained three pairs of stolen glasses valued at $869. An employee was able to positively identify the two suspects detained at Nike as the suspects who stole the glasses. Two suspects were subsequently charged with Organized Retail Theft. The driver was charged with Using a Controlled Substance.
December 31, 2023 - Trespass in Progress
Officers responded to a trespass in progress at Reclaim Shelter. The call involved a subject who was trespassed from the shelter during the prior week. Officers found the subject down the road from the shelter and contacted him. The subject stated that he did not remember receiving the trespass notice. The subject was cited for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree; had the trespass order explained again; and was released. The subject attempted to trespass again the following day and officers arrived and found the subject once again. Due to the numerous trespass order violations, the subject was arrested and booked into Issaquah City Jail.
