Public Invited to Provide Comment on City’s Draft Housing Action Plan and Housing Needs Assessment

As part of its ongoing effort to increase and diversify affordable housing options in Snoqualmie, the City has been developing a Housing Needs Assessment to understand current and future housing needs and a Housing Action Plan to identify actions and strategies that can help meet those needs.

This month, the City of Snoqualmie Draft Housing Needs Assessment and Draft Housing Action Plan were released. The Draft Housing Action Plan builds off the Housing Needs Assessment, as well as public engagement, to develop ideas the City could pursue to address local housing needs and issues.

Community engagement is a key component in creating a final Housing Action Plan that will help achieve Snoqualmie’s housing goals. As such, residents are invited to review the Draft Housing Action Plan and Housing Needs Assessment and provide comments directly within the interactive documents.

The final Housing Action Plan will be integrated into the City’s Comprehensive Plan Update, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024.

Review and Provide Comments:

Comprehensive Plan Update – Snoqualmie 2044
In January 2023, the City launched an extensive two-year project to update its Comprehensive Plan - a long range planning tool that guides decision making about how the City will grow over a 20-year period. The plan outlines goals and policies for managing growth while protecting the health, welfare, and quality of life of residents. It guides development, laws, and City spending, describing the Snoqualmie that community members wish to leave to future generations.
