Snoqualmie Police Chief Phipps Resigns Effective July 3

News & Announcements Posted on June 27, 2023

On June 27, 2023, Snoqualmie Police Chief Perry Phipps submitted his resignation, effective July 3, 2023.

Phipps joined the Snoqualmie Police Department in 2017 following three decades of law enforcement service in California. Under his leadership the department grew its commitment to community policing, enforcing its longstanding motto, ‘no call too small.’ Phipps was also instrumental in launching the Behavioral Health Response program, hiring the department’s first Mental Health Officer who responds alongside police officers and firefighters on calls involving those in crisis.

“I want to thank Chief Phipps for his years of service and express my gratitude for his dedication to the Snoqualmie community and our police department,” said Mayor Katherine Ross. “It is my intention to ask Snoqualmie Police Captain Brian Lynch to assist us as Interim Police Chief during this period of transition pending City Council confirmation at the July 10 meeting.”

“I will always cherish my time in this beautiful community and will truly miss the amazing people that work at the Police Department who serve this community without fail,” said Chief Phipps.
