The National Weather Service forecast includes a chance of snow along with freezing temperatures. The following will help you prepare for winter weather.
City Snow and Ice Response
City crews are preparing plows for snow and will respond based on the Snowplow Map and the Snow and Ice Removal Plan – learn more. Crews will address snowplow requests from the public, but for their safety will not respond until after a storm. If you have an emergency, call 9-1-1.
Power Outages
In the event of power outages avoid downed trees, as power lines can be hidden under branches. If you see a downed powerline, avoid it and call Puget Sound Energy (PSE) at 1-888-225-5773. In the event of a power outage, keep BBQs outside and ventilate backup generators to avoid CO poisoning. PSE also posts area outages and response times.
