At the November 25 City Council meeting, the Snoqualmie Fire Dept. introduced six new team members - including two career firefighters and four volunteer Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) - to the community.
Following introductions by Snoqualmie Fire Dep. Deputy Chief Brown, Mayor Ross presented each new fire department member with their helmet and friends and family members pinned their badges.
The new Snoqualmie Firefighters are Jack Owens and Damian Ramos. Firefighter Owens began his fire career while in high school, serving as an explorer with Snohomish Fire District 4, and spent the past 7 years with the Boeing Fire Dept. Firefighter Ramos served 10 years as a volunteer firefighter and then 5 years as a career firefighter with the Sunnyside Fire Dept.
New Volunteer EMTs are:
- Aliza Davids: Recently moved to Washington and previously worked as an EMT in Israel with the National Rescue Service and Red Cross branch, Magen David Adom.
- Shannon Outz: Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and works at a nonprofit organization providing health and wellness resources to King County families.
- Will Sirski: Recently moved to Seattle from California and is an engineer at Boeing.
- Hayley West: A Snoqualmie Valley native and daughter of Snoqualmie Fire Dept. Lt. Matt West. She works as an EMT at AMR responding to 911 calls alongside the Seattle Fire Dept.
