A weekend-long closure of the SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway on-ramp to eastbound I-90 begins Friday night, March 28, 2025. The work is part of the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) I-90/SR 18 Improvements project. The second weekend-long closure - this time the westbound I-90 off-ramp to SR 18 /Snoqualmie Parkway - begins Friday night, April 4, 2025.
Realigning the on-ramp
During the closure, contractor crews working for WSDOT will realign the on-ramp, including moving the barrier, installing lighting, paving, and striping new lanes.
Another weekend ramp closure coming
The March 28-31 work on the SR 18 on-ramp to eastbound I-90 represents the first of two weekend-long ramp closures for the I-90/SR 18 Interchange Improvements project. Beginning Friday night, April 4, the westbound I-90 off-ramp to SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway will close through Monday morning, April 7, as work continues on a new diverging diamond interchange. That closure is weather dependent.
In addition to constructing the new interchange, which will improve traffic flow and safety in the area, the project also is:
- Widening more than two miles of SR 18 south of I-90 to two lanes in each direction.
- Building new four-lane bridges at Lake Creek and Deep Creek that will allow fish and wildlife to pass beneath SR 18.
- Constructing a new two-lane bridge over Raging River next to the existing SR 18 two-lane bridge.
The new diverging diamond interchange is scheduled to open late this spring or summer, with SR 18 widening expected later this year.
