The City of Snoqualmie is excited to announce the relaunch of its popular City Academy, a free program designed to give residents an inside look at how their local government operates. The Snoqualmie City Academy has been re-branded, restructured, and returns this fall to empower residents with knowledge about city services, departments, and decision-making processes.
The in-person City Academy is a six-week program that offers participants a behind-the-scenes view of city operations. Each week, a different city department, from public works to the police and fire departments, will host a session. This provides an opportunity for residents to meet city leaders, ask questions, and learn directly about the work that keeps the community running smoothly.
"We're excited to bring back in-person the Snoqualmie City Academy," said Mayor Katherine Ross. "It's a great way for people to connect with their local government, understand the challenges we face, and see firsthand how their tax dollars are put to work. A more informed community is a more involved community. This program is a key component to building stronger connections with our residents."
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the City's structure, budget, and strategic goals. The curriculum includes interactive sessions, tours of city facilities, and discussions on topics ranging from land use and planning to emergency management.
The program is open to all Snoqualmie residents aged 18 and older. The academy will run on Wednesday evenings from Oct. 1 through Nov. 5, 2025, with one Saturday morning session.
Snoqualmie City Academy is capped at 15 participants. Interested residents are encouraged to apply early. If there is high interest, another City Academy session may be offered in Spring 2026.
Online registration is available on the City of Snoqualmie's official website at: www.snoqualmiewa.gov/FormCenter/Communications-13/City-Academy-Registration-126.
