The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close the Snoqualmie Parkway/SR 18 on-ramp to westbound I-90 around-the-clock from 9 pm Friday, Oct. 3, to 5 am Monday, Oct. 6.
Drivers traveling in the area should expect delays and plan for extra travel time this weekend.
Snoqualmie residents can use WSDOT’s signed detour – using eastbound I-90 and looping around at SE North Bend Way (exit 27) – or use SR 202 to access the westbound I-90 on-ramps in Preston (exit 22) or SE North Bend Way (exit 27).
While the ramp is closed, crews will grind and grade the ramp, preparing it to be placed in its final configuration. Crews also plan to finish installing permanent ramp metering, install guardrail, replace temporary barriers with permanent barriers and sample soil. There is no paving or striping involved, so the planned work is not subject to the same weather dependency levels as paving.
Additionally, the SR 18/Snoqualmie Parkway on-ramp to eastbound I-90 will close from 9 pm to 5 am nightly Wednesday, Oct. 1, to Friday morning, Oct. 3, to install guardrail and landscaping. A signed detour will use westbound I-90 and loop around at Preston-Fall City (exit 22) during the nightly closures.
This work is part of the I-90/SR 18 Interchange Improvements project. The project is also widening SR 18 to two lanes in each direction between I-90 and Deep Creek. That work is expected to finish later this fall.
