Snoqualmie Firefighters Honored with Service Awards

News & Announcements Posted on March 31, 2021

Snoqualmie, WA – The Snoqualmie Fire Department recently recognized several firefighters for their contributions to our community at their annual awards dinner, held online due to COVID-19. Both a career and a volunteer firefighter are honored each year for their expertise and proficiency in fire and/or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) protocols, skills, and conduct. In addition, the Bud King Award is given to an EMT or firefighter who goes above and beyond their community service, project participation, and time commitment duties. These awards are voted on by all department members. In addition, the department honors years of service.

Interim Fire Chief Mike Bailey said, “Although we value and appreciate all of the members of our organization and the service they provide to our community, these individuals deserve special recognition for their contributions to the department in 2020. Unfortunately, we were not able celebrate in person with our larger fire families, but it is important to recognize their efforts and contributions to the City of Snoqualmie.”

Honorees for 2020

Career Responder of the Year – Firefighter Theresa Tozier

Volunteer Firefighter of the Year – Robert Angrisano

Bud King Award – Volunteer Firefighter Robert Angrisano

Years of Service

Firefighter Darby Summers – 20 years

Volunteer Firefighter Lorrie Jones – 5 years

Volunteer/Career Firefighter (2020) Peter O’Donnell – 5 years

Chief’s Medal

Given at the discretion of the fire chief, the Chief’s Medal honors an employee who has made a significant impact on the department. This year’s recipient, Administrative Assistant Tomm Munro, is a pillar of the organization with his expertise and willingness to help. “While he may never enter a burning building, jump into a river to save a life, or respond to an emergency, his actions within the organization have saved countless lives, protected property, and proven instrumental to the service we have provided,” said Interim Fire Chief Bailey.
