About the King County Health Order
A King County Public Health Order that took effect October 25 requires people ages 12 and older to show vaccination confirmation when visiting indoor restaurants, bars, entertainment, and recreational venues hosting 12 or more individuals. Indoor restaurants and bars with seating capacity of less than 12 will require people to show proof of vaccination starting December 6.
Ways to Show Proof of Vaccination
- A CDC vaccine card or photo of vaccine card.
- Documented proof of vaccination from medical record or vaccine provider.
- Proof of vaccination from another state or county.
- Printed certificate or digital record from MyIRMobile.com or other apps.
People who are unvaccinated or cannot prove vaccine status will be required to show proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test in the last 72 hours, or an FDA-approved rapid test result from a test conducted by a provider onsite at an event or establishment just prior to entry.
Making Public Spaces Safer
The health order is intended to make public spaces safer for everyone by slowing the spread of COVID-19 in our community as well as relieving pressure on an overburdened health care system. The entire order, which is not expected to be permanent, will be reevaluated March 16 or sooner based on the status and impacts of COVID-19 in King County.
