Sidewalk Repair & Replacement Program

The Snoqualmie Sidewalk Repair and Replacement program is a comprehensive approach to improving and maintaining sidewalks throughout the City. The Sidewalk Replacement program has been approved by City Council with a budget of approximately $167,000 in 2025 and $261,000 in 2026.  To provide the best value to City residents and procure better pricing, the Parks & Public Works (PPW) Department elects to do a Sidewalk Replacement Project every two years in addition to regular maintenance activities.

The list of sidewalks to be repaired is generated from both public input, as well as staff input. Concerned citizens can report sidewalk displacements via the Report a Sidewalk Trip Hazard webpage  or by emailing or calling PPW at 425-831-4919 | pwconcerns@snoqualmiewa.gov

Once PPW is alerted to sidewalk displacement, staff will go to the site and either mark the uplift with paint or install an asphalt shim to reduce the hazard as much as possible. That site is then added to the list for repair/replacement during the bi-annual sidewalk contract. The method of how to best resolve the lifts and prevent future displacements is determined by an engineer prior to putting the project out to bid.

Since 2022, the City has spent roughly $750,000 to repair and/or replace 18,000 square feet of sidewalk, as well as $465,000 on the street tree replacement program, ensuring that street trees do not cause uplifts for roughly 1,200 linear feet of sidewalk. The next sidewalk replacement project is scheduled to go out for bids at the end of September 2025, with construction expected to start in Fall 2025. The next street tree replacement project is scheduled for Summer of 2026.

**Residents can report sidewalk displacements until mid September 2025 to have those identified areas included in the  2025 construction project.
