SPD News Release Infographic 2023

On Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, at  10:09 am, Snoqualmie Police Dept. officers responded to SE 96th St at 351st Ave SE for a welfare check where officers were informed the driver of a Toyota SUV with a broken out back window was slumped over and unresponsive. Officers arrived and located the vehicle in the middle of the road.

The first officer on scene deployed a Terminator stop stick and took evidentiary photos of the driver passed out behind the wheel, as well as visible drug paraphernalia. The driver then woke up and reversed into a marked patrol vehicle, nearly running over a patrol sergeant. The suspect driver then fled from officers.

With reasonable suspicion of DUI, a pursuit ensued within state law and department policy. The suspect fled into a nearby residential area. The pursuit ended on Snoqualmie Ridge when officers used a PIT to stop to disable the suspect’s vehicle. Assistance was requested from the Issaquah Police Department and Washington State Patrol.

After the pursuit, the suspect appeared to be in medical distress and aid was requested. Initial medical care was provided by the same officers who had pursued the suspect. Two doses of Narcan were administered. Additional narcotics, including suspected fentanyl, were recovered from the suspect before he was transported to the hospital for further treatment. This investigation is ongoing.

The suspect, a 29-year-old male from Kent, WA, is in custody. He had a previous DUI history and multiple active warrants for his arrest, with a total bail of over $55,000. His driver's license was suspended, and an ignition interlock device was also required.

If anyone witnessed the suspect driving the wrong way on Snoqualmie Parkway between SE 96th St and SE Jacobia St, or as he drove down SE Jacobia St from Snoqualmie Parkway, please call 425-888-3333.

This was the second vehicle to flee from the Snoqualmie Police Dept. on Nov. 12.
