NPDES II Stormwater Permit and Stormwater Management Program
The City of Snoqualmie is covered under the Western Washington National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit issued by the Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) on August 1, 2012 and modified January 16, 2015.
The NPDES permit outlines actions Snoqualmie must take to minimize stormwater pollutants.
Requirements
The NPDES requires the City of Snoqualmie to document a Stormwater Management Program (SWMP). The SWMP outlines the stormwater program activities that the City intends to implement during the upcoming year. The SWMP specifically addresses the following permit requirements.
- Controlling stormwater run-off from construction sites
- Illicit discharge detection and elimination
- Operations and maintenance of stormwater facilities after construction
- Public involvement and participation
It also requires that the City of Snoqualmie submit an annual report in March of every year, summarizing the City’s stormwater program activities completed over the previous year.
The Stormwater Management Plan is updated annually and posted on the City’s website.
