Splashpad

Description

The project will bring a splashpad to Snoqualmie Community Park. The multipurpose design will allow children to cool off on summer days, and also offer space for other community events when not in use. In August 2023, the City Council approved a resolution authorizing a purchase order with Aquatix by Landscape Structures, Inc. for splashpad design, features, mechanical components, as well as complete installation. The splashpad will be sited where the current basketball court is located due to its proximity to the park’s restroom and equipment storage building. The City is currently considering relocation options for the basketball court.

Water used at the splashpad is recycled and extensively treated for safety.  The splashpad includes a system that chemically treats the water with chlorine and muriatic acid before it passes through a sand filter and then lastly through a UV filter. The water used meets all Washington State Dept. of Health regulations and standards.

Timeline

Construction began in spring 2024. In June 2024, contractors performed the majority of the earth and site work, installed a large 4,000-gallon water tank, and installed most of the required electrical and plumbing equipment in the mechanical room.  In September 2024, the contractor installed all piping to the planned splashpad features and electrical equipment.

In early 2025, the project was nearing its final stages. In January, contractors poured the concrete foundation for the splashpad. In February, contractors began installing spray features. Completion is anticipated in spring 2025, so residents can enjoy this new park amenity in the upcoming warm summer months.

In April 2025, testing began on the spalsh pad's water features and operating system. A grand opening happened on  June 6, 2025.
