NW Railway Museum Roundhouse

Project Description

The Roundhouse Project will construct a new facility at the Northwest Railway Museum campus on Stone Quarry Road.  The structure will feature historical and historically inspired design elements from locomotive facilities of the steam era. The expansion will include three key elements: a model railway, new exhibit space, and a turntable.

The project includes the construction ground improvements in the form of stone columns in the anticipated future location of a Railway Roundhouse and Turntable as well as an improved fire access way, railroad track, completion of SEPA required parking area, and associated walkways. The current project is the final phase of a 3 phase development for the site. Phase 1 includes the construction of an Exhibition Building, associated railroad trackage, walkways and utilities. Phase 2 included the construction of the Archives building, expanded parking, and associated walkways.

The project site the 6.3-acre Northwest Railway Museum campus located at 9320 Stone Quarry Road.
