Snoqualmie Valley Health Expansion
Project Description
The project proposal consists of the construction of a new health "Hub" and Medical Office Building immediately adjacent to the existing Snoqualmie Valley Hospital. The approximate 85,000 SF facility will expand local access to care in the region and will include Imaging Services, Immediate Care, Lab Services, Retail Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Clinic Exam Areas, and a 4-OR Ambulatory Surgery Facility along with associated administrative spaces. In addition, the facility will support whole health and wellness by providing retail functions, including a restaurant, meeting spaces, retail gym, and a climbing gym.
The building massing works with the existing sloping topography. Imaging and building support services are located on a lower level that daylights to parking areas adjacent to the existing hospital Emergency Department. Pedestrian connections from the hospital connect along the south façade of the new Medical Office Building, bringing all users to the central “Hub” – a breezeway linking the clinical and retail functions and connecting visitors through the building to the natural wetlands to the north.
The building's facade references the local geology with textural corrugated metal panels and vertical openings referencing the neighboring cliff faces and a more organic, geode-like form wrapping the southeast corner and revealing the climbing and fitness areas. Activated spaces along the south façade and breezeway should enliven the campus, invite the community, and build a healthful environment.
Surface parking facilities, loading areas, and infrastructure associated with the project are also proposed, in addition to a new traffic signal at the intersection of SE 99th Street and Snoqualmie Parkway.
Project Timeline
The applicant anticipates starting site construction in late spring 2025 with building construction starting in late summer 2025. Targeting opening the facility in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Location
The project is proposed on two King County parcels within the City of Snoqualmie, (parcels 0223079077 and 0223079067) and near the intersection of Snoqualmie Parkway and SE 99th Street.
