Intermittent Westbound I-90 Lane Closure in May Graphic

Starting on Monday, May 8, 2023, and continuing for several weeks, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will intermittently close the left lane of westbound I-90 between Preston and High Point.

These intermittent closures will occur from 9 am to 7 pm along this three-mile stretch of I-90 so that crews can perform utility work required for the I-90/SR 18 Interchange Improvements project.

Additional Lane Closures on SR 18 for highway widening
Monday – Thursday from 9 pm to 5 am, drivers using SR 18 should prepare for lane shifts and nighttime traffic flagging operations for lane closures between the I-90/SR 18 interchange and Deep Creek. This work is related to the widening of SR 18 to two lanes in each direction.

Drilling crews are also working on eastbound SR 18 from 9 am to 4 pm and will close a single lane between Issaquah/Hobart Road and the summit of Tiger Mountain to gather samples for a project in design.

WSDOT I-90/SR 18 Improvements Project
The interchange improvement project will build a diverging diamond interchange and widen SR 18 between I-90 and Deep Creek. Construction started in summer 2022 and is expected to be complete in 2025.
