[ARCHIVED] Greek Street Infrastructure Improvement to Begin in May

Greek Street Infrastructure Improvement to Begin in May

Snoqualmie, WA – The City of Snoqualmie “Greek Streets Utility Infrastructure Improvement Project” will bring new and upgraded infrastructure through the downtown neighborhood bordered by Schusman Ave SE, Falls Ave SE, and Park St SE.

Improvements will include new and upgraded water, sewer, and stormwater mains; new pavement, curbs, and gutters in some sections of the neighborhood; and new sidewalk ADA ramps.

This project is just one part of the City’s ongoing capital improvements that support current and future residents in Snoqualmie. It will ensure the preservation and enhancement of critical infrastructure while maintaining high service levels for the community.

The project will begin on Schusman Ave SE adjacent to Mount Si High School. It will move section by section throughout the neighborhood throughout the summer and into fall. It will not affect the entire neighborhood at any one time. Flaggers will be present for traffic management and safety. Signage will be on roadways prior to the start of paving.

Equipment will begin to enter the neighborhood on May 10 with work scheduled to begin the week of May 13. Work on roads and sidewalks will continue through the summer.

Although starting the project on Schusman before the school year is over will create parking challenges in the Mount Si High School area, the goal is to have that section of the neighborhood completed well in advance of the opening of all new school buildings currently under construction.

There is student parking accessible from Meadowbrook Way SE. The staff and visitor parking lot in the rear of the school entered via Schusman Ave SE will remain open, but accessibility may – from time to time – be delayed due to temporary roadway closure during utility and paving work.

More information about the project and a map of the affected streets can be found on the City of Snoqualmie website at www.cityofsnoqualmie.org under Departments/Public Works Division.
