Snoqualmie Valley Bicycle Safety Rodeo Kick Starts Summer

Snoqualmie, WA – The Snoqualmie Valley Bicycle Safety Rodeo is back to get kids ready for a safe summer. The event is June 8, 1-3 p.m. in the parking lot by Snoqualmie Community Park, 35018 SE Ridge St.

Bring the kids, their bikes, and helmets for fun, instructional obstacle courses with a series of safety stations giving children the opportunity to learn correct riding skills and how to control their bikes.

The first station includes a thorough safety inspection of the bicycle. Professionals will check bike helmets to make sure they fit well and are being worn properly. If the child does not have a bike helmet, one may be provided for those who qualify.

The remaining bike safety stations focus on riding techniques and skills. Children will be asked to ride through established courses of figure eights, circles, and parallel lines.

All participants will receive a packet of safety information at registration and incentive prizes at the various stations. At the completion of the course, children will receive a certificate and goody bag. There will also be games and free ice cream.

This event is hosted by the Snoqualmie Police Department in memory of Tanner Jeans. It is sponsored by the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA and Singletrack Cycles of North Bend.

Volunteers are needed. To sign up, contact Deanna Mihelich at dmihelich@ci.snoqualmie.wa.us.
