Hazard Mitigation Workshops Will Focus on Flood Risks in Snoqualmie

Snoqualmie, WA – The City of Snoqualmie is hosting information workshops about hazard mitigation in Snoqualmie that will focus on Snoqualmie River flooding and reducing the risk of property damage.

Who Should Attend

  • Floodplain Property Owners
    Residents and property owners in the Snoqualmie floodplain should attend the workshops to determine if they have the proper flood insurance coverage and if they are eligible for discounts or special programs.
  • Non-Floodplain Property Owners
    Those who do not live or own property in the floodplain should also attend to consider if their home or business is at risk from creek flooding and landslides that can occur from heavy rain and snowmelt from the mountains.  

Workshop Format

  • A presentation by Angela Donaldson of Hauglie Insurance Agency about urban flooding and the benefits of having flood insurance.
  • Informational materials such as the Flood Insurance Rate Map.

September 17, 2019, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Snoqualmie Fire Station, 37600 SE Snoqualmie Parkway

September 25, 2019, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Location in Snoqualmie to be determined.
