Snoqualmie, WA – Celebrate fall by planting a tree with family and friends on Green Snoqualmie Day. Through the Green Snoqualmie Partnership, an initiative to restore and steward Snoqualmie’s forested parks and natural areas, 267,000 square feet of weeds have been removed from local forests.

The partnership is now ready to replace non-native plants with native trees and shrubs. Volunteers are invited to participate in Green Snoqualmie Day, held October 5, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at Jeanne Hansen Park, 34226 SE Jacobia Street and Sandy Cove Park, 7970 Falls Ave. SE. Gloves and tools are provided as part of the event, which is open to all ages and abilities. Participants can look forward to tree planting, food, and fun activities.

From its beginning in 2016, the Green Snoqualmie Partnership has worked on 12 local restoration sites, gained six volunteer forest stewards, and benefited from 1,319 volunteers working 3,381 volunteer hours. The partnership includes the City of Snoqualmie, Forterra, King Conservation District, King County Noxious Weeds, Mountains to Sound Greenway, Snoqualmie Ridge Residential Owners Association, the Snoqualmie Tribe, and the Snoqualmie Watershed Forum.
