On September 14, small fires were set in the men’s and women’s restrooms at Azalea Park, 6604 Azalea Way SE in Snoqualmie.
The Snoqualmie Police Department and Fire Department responded although there was no threat to public safety.
The King County Sheriff’s Office Fire/Arson Investigation Unit determined the cause to be toilet paper intentionally set on fire. It self-extinguished. There is significant damage to the building.
On September 21, Snoqualmie Parks Division staff arrived at the Azalea Park restrooms for routine maintenance. Upon arrival, they found signs of an intentional fire similar the incident on September 14. The Snoqualmie Police Department did an initial investigation.
The restroom doors at Azalea Park are currently locked.
Information about these incidents should be reported to 1-800-55-ARSON. A $10,000 award is being offered by the Arson Alarm Foundation.
Please report any suspicious activity by calling 911, which will dispatch the Snoqualmie Police and/or Fire Department as needed.
