Affordable Housing Apartments in Snoqualmie Open this Spring
Snoqualmie, WA – The Panorama Apartments affordable housing complex in Snoqualmie will be ready for initial occupancy this spring. Construction will be completed in five phases through mid-2020 with residents moving in as buildings open.
The development will help fill a gap in the low inventory of affordable housing for people that commute to Snoqualmie, such as employees of the school district, healthcare facilities, and businesses throughout the city.
Although the apartments will be rented at below market rates, they are not government-subsidized housing. Rent will be between $1,117 and $2,691 per month depending on the number of bedrooms. The developer is accepting leasing applications for those households earning up to 60% of the King County AMI (average median income).
“Having an affordable housing development in Snoqualmie has been a long-time goal for city leadership,” said Mayor Matt Larson. “We are very excited the apartments will soon be ready for people to live in. These apartment homes will allow people earning lower than median incomes who are employed in Snoqualmie to live in Snoqualmie, reducing their commute time and fuel expense, and including them and their families in all our community has to offer.”
For many years, City Council goals have prioritized affordable housing to preserve and facilitate additional housing for the workforce, seniors, and vulnerable populations. Mayor Larson and council members continue pursuing and expanding this goal by researching funding mechanisms and potential partnerships.
The Panorama Apartments community is located north of Snoqualmie Valley Hospital and adjacent to the Eagle Point neighborhood on Snoqualmie Ridge. This parcel was designated for affordable multi-family housing since 2004 as part of the conditions of the Snoqualmie Ridge II Mixed Use Final Plan.
