Serve Your Community on a City of Snoqualmie Commission
Openings on Civil Service, Economic Development, and Parks and Events commissions
Snoqualmie, WA – Three City of Snoqualmie commissions are seeking new members, including the Civil Service Commission, the Economic Development Commission, and the Parks and Events Commission. This is a great opportunity to serve and become involved in your community.
The Civil Service Commission discusses issues related to Fire and Police department personnel. The commission holds testing for police and fire positions, conducts promotional exams, and hears appeals of disciplinary actions. This commission, which meets the first Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. on an as-needed basis, has two openings.
The Economic Development Commission discusses the impact on economic development of the plans, policies, and regulations of the city as well as provisions for economic growth, vitality, and a high quality of life. This commission meets the third Wednesday of each month at 8 a.m., and has two openings.
The Parks and Events Commission advises the city council regarding many aspects of city parks, recreational facilities, and programs. They also advise regarding conduct of any form of recreation or cultural activities held for the enjoyment and well-being of the public. This committee, which meets the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m., has three openings.
Mayor Matt Larson is considering applications for appointment and confirmation by the City Council. The new members must reside within the city limits.
