[ARCHIVED] Snoqualmie COVID-19 Relief Funding Awards $210K to Local Businesses, Agencies

The City of Snoqualmie is distributing $210,000 of its COVID-19 Winter Relief Program funding to help local businesses and community organizations continue to recover from the financial impacts of the state shutdown and phased reopening.

Funding was awarded to 46 local business and non-profit applicants and six social service organizations. Disbursements are underway.

“Local businesses, especially those tied to tourism and services, suffered significant setbacks due to the COVID-19 crisis and the resulting and continuing restrictions on businesses,” said Snoqualmie Mayor Matt Larson. “I cannot stress enough the importance for our residents to eat and shop local. The relief funding helps our businesses, but they need long-term economic sustainability to survive.”

This is a second round of relief funding made possible by federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) dollars. The first-round distribution by the City of Snoqualmie totaled $435,000: $410,000 from CARES Act dollars; $20,000 from King County; and $5,000 from the Office of King County Councilmember Kathy Lambert.

Stay local: Snoqualmie has more than 35 eating establishments and more than 20 retail shops to serve our residents and tourists.
