Snoqualmie, WA – Blood donations are particularly important during this time due to the COVID-19 health crisis. Since June 2020, the City of Snoqualmie has hosted three blood drive “pop-ups” from Seattle BloodWorks, where donors can donate blood in a safe setting. In total, 515 units of blood have been donated at the three pop-ups at City Hall since June, enough to serve 1,545 patients.
“It’s hard to overstate the impact the community has made on the lives of those in need,” said BloodWorks Donor Resource Representative Landon Bennett.
At the most recent blood drive held in November, donors filled 321 of the 340 total appointment slots, a high mark in terms of blood collection. Sixty of the donors made first-time donations, and BloodWorks collected a total of 261 total blood units. These units were split into red blood cells, platelets, and plasma, meaning up to 783 patients at local hospitals, including Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, were served thanks the community.
