[ARCHIVED] Santa Parade is Coming to Town to Collect Food for Those in Need

Santa Parade (JPG)

On Saturday, December 19 from 10 a.m. to noon, Santa Claus and Snoqualmie Firedog Phoebe will be parading through Snoqualmie on a fire engine to collect food for those in need. The Snoqualmie Firefighters Association coordinated this citywide food drive with a festive twist.

Watch the parade and leave food donations at the end of your driveway or front curb. Firefighters will be masked up and socially distanced to collect donations for the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank to distribute. You can also leave donations out front even if you will not be home

Santa Parade Route

The parade route map is posted on the City of Snoqualmie website at: https://www.ci.snoqualmie.wa.us/734/Santa-Parade

The parade begins at 10 a.m. at the corner of SE Park St and Meadowbrook Way SE (near Mount Si High School). The fire engine will meander through downtown Snoqualmie and then to Snoqualmie Ridge. The parade turns right from Snoqualmie Parkway onto Fairway Ave SE and through Snoqualmie neighborhoods, finishing at Snoqualmie Parkway and Swenson Dr SE (near Timber Ridge Elementary School).

Donation Items Needed

This year with COVID-19 cases spiking along with unemployment, more individuals and families are relying on the food bank to get them through.

  • A list of items most needed is posted on the City of Snoqualmie website at https://www.ci.snoqualmie.wa.us/734/Santa-Parade.
  • There is already an adequate supply of rice, beans, tomato soup, and mushroom soup.
  • For safety reasons, all donated food must be unopened packages within expiration date and in good condition. Cans without labels or homemade items cannot be accepted.
  • In addition to food, size 5 and 6 pull-ups and overnight diapers are needed.
