Meet and Greet Held November 15, 5:00-6:30 p.m., City Hall Council Chambers
Snoqualmie, WA – Members of the public will have the opportunity to meet the four finalists for the position of Snoqualmie City Administrator on Monday, November 15, 5:00-6:30 p.m. at the City Hall Council Chambers located at 38624 SE River Street. Masks are required.
The finalists were recently selected following a nationwide search that produced a field of 25 candidates from 14 states and 2 countries. Fire Chief Mark Correira has been serving as the Interim City Administrator since March of this year.
The four finalists have been invited to participate in the onsite interview process scheduled for November 15 and 16. The two-day process will include a community tour, candidate sessions with senior staff, the community meet-and-greet, and interviews with the Mayor and Mayor-Elect on Tuesday.
Snoqualmie City Administrator Finalists
Matthew Brown has 10 years of local government experience with the last 5 years spent at the senior leadership level as deputy city administrator for St. Helens, Oregon. Prior experience includes 3 years with the City of Forest Grove, Oregon as a senior management analyst and 2 years as senior accountant with the City of Hubbard, Oregon. Mr. Brown holds a master’s degree in business administration from Marylhurst University and a bachelor’s degree in business from Western Oregon University. He also earned an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from the Harvard Kennedy Business School.
Jeffrey Durbin has more than 25 years of local government leadership experience and most recently served as the interim town manager for Frisco, Colorado. Before that, he was the town manager for Fraser, Colorado (2004 – 2020.) Prior experience includes 3 years as Fraser’s community development director as well as 6 years with the city of Plainfield, Illinois as their community development director and 2 years as a preservation planner for the State of Michigan. Mr. Durbin earned a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado. He is also an ICMA credentialed manager.
Michael Sauerwein has more than 25 years of local government leadership experience and currently serves as the city manager for Medina, Washington, a position he has held since 2014. He previously served as assistant city manager and director of administrative services for Sammamish, Washington (2004-2013.) Prior to that, Mr. Sauerwein was the city manager for Sheridan, Oregon for 10 years. Mr. Sauerwein has a master’s degree in Public Affairs from the University of Oregon and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, also from the University of Oregon.
Dominick (Nick) Villano has 11 years of local government leadership experience and more than 25 years of private sector engineering experience. He currently serves as the city manager for Clifton, New Jersey, a position he has held since 2014. Prior to that, Mr. Villano was Clifton’s deputy city manager/city engineer. From 1989 to 2010, he was the principal/director of the municipal division for a private sector engineering consulting firm. Mr. Villano holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Norwich University and is a licensed professional engineer. He is also a certified public manager through Rutgers University.
