[ARCHIVED] State Honors Snoqualmie Water Reclamation Facility with Outstanding Performance Award

In April, the Washington State Dept. of Ecology (DOE) awarded Snoqualmie’s Water Reclamation Facility with the 2022 Wastewater Treatment Plant Outstanding Performance award. DOE evaluated more than 300 plants statewide, with 109 achieving top performance for operations in 2022.

Thanks to the diligence and teamwork of the City’s Public Works Sanitation Division, the Snoqualmie Water Reclamation Facility was a top performer for regularly meeting numeric effluent limits and individual permit criteria, conducting monitoring, and reporting required data.

“Turning wastewater into water clean enough to discharge takes efficient process control, skill, teamwork, and good judgement. This is truly a 24/7 responsibility,” said DOE Water Quality Program Manager Vincent McGowan. “Ecology appreciates the ongoing commitment your plant’s operators make to protecting water quality and providing a critical service to the community.”

Mayor Katherine Ross commented, “Our award-winning Water Reclamation Facility’s excellent record is a credit to the talented and dedicated team of plant operators and supervisors who protect the health of both residents and our surrounding natural environment around the clock, every day of the year.”

The Parks & Public Works Sanitation Division focuses on system reliability and efficiency to protect public health and the environment, along with sewer capacity expansion to meet growing needs, including the current Water Reclamation Facility Phase 3 Improvements project that will help support the Snoqualmie Casino Expansion and Hotel Addition project.
